Our Story
The story of Okepas is deeply intertwined with a legacy of innovation and a personal journey of passion and perseverance. It all began with my father, Aldo, a visionary who revolutionized the footwear industry by inventing the first injected EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) machine. This groundbreaking technology—now the foundation for most sneaker midsoles, clogs, and sandals—transformed the way footwear is made. In 1992, he founded EXO Italia, the first company to fully utilize this process, pushing the boundaries of comfort and sustainability in the industry.
Growing up, I remember walking through the factory, mesmerized by the machines and the endless possibilities for innovation. Inspired by this from an early age, I dedicated my career to innovation, eventually leading global product advancements as the Senior Director of Innovation at Crocs.
But despite all the progress in footwear, I noticed a gap—customization was either too complicated or simply unavailable to most consumers. People wanted to wear something unique, something that truly reflected their personality, yet the industry wasn’t offering an easy way to make that happen. That realization led me to start Okepas.

At Okepas, our mission is simple: empower people to express themselves through their sneakers without sacrificing comfort or sustainability.
This journey is personal—a continuation of the values my father instilled in me: innovation, craftsmanship, and a relentless drive to improve. Okepas is more than a brand; it’s proof that passion, creativity, and technology can reshape the future of footwear—one personalized step at a time.
